WhatsApp Ruse Impersonates Sequoia

IMPORTANT MESSAGE: Fraudulent WhatsAppTM Messages

We have become aware that a WhatsApp™ “investment forum” is impersonating financial services organizations in an attempt to obtain client credentials or lure prospects into making a fraudulent investment. Sequoia Financial Group does not use WhatsApp™ to communicate with clients.
If you believe you may have been a victim of fraudulent activity on WhatsApp™, file a report by visiting https://www.ic3.gov/ or by contacting your local FBI field office. To help you safeguard yourself in online forums, please be aware of the following:
  • Sequoia Financial will never communicate or solicit investments to existing or prospective clients via text or through a social media site or app. We will never ask for login credentials.
  • Sequoia Financial communicates securely with existing and prospective clients only through firm-approved channels. Those channels may be secure Outlook email, Hearsay, Webex, phone calls and face-to-face.
  • If you receive a suspicious text message or suspect fraud, please contact your Sequoia Advisor immediately. Do not follow through with any comments or instructions that are being asked of you.
