Why did you decide to work at Sequoia?
Previously, I worked at a very large company where my work and the impact of my work felt like it got lost and didn’t make much of a difference. I knew I wanted to work somewhere where I can make an impact and see how my work directly affects the company. Sequoia is that place. It’s meaningful when coworkers and higher-ups reach out and tell me they like a dashboard or that a report is going to save them a ton of time. It’s amazing to work somewhere that people appreciate and recognize the work you do. Additionally, I’m given a lot of freedom in my work and have the ability to be creative. I work in analytics, which isn’t typically seen as a creative role by most people, but at Sequoia I’m given creative control over the dashboards and am able to make them my own.
What brings you joy outside of work?
I really enjoy spending time with my family, friends, my boyfriend, and our two cats, Finn and Gracie. It brightens my day when I come home and my cats are waiting by the door to greet me. On the weekends, I enjoy being creative by painting, sewing, and baking.
What place do you most want to travel and why?
I would love to travel to Italy one day. Aside from the obviously amazing food and beautiful landscapes, I’d really like to see the art. During college, I took a few art history classes and I absolutely loved the architecture and paintings that came out of Italy during the Renaissance and Baroque periods. I want to see it all in person one day, so I plan traveling there in the (hopefully) not too distant future.
What are you currently reading or listening to?
I love musicals, so while I’m working around the house I’ve been listening to the cast recordings for Beetlejuice and Six: The Musical. On my drive to and from work I typically listen to podcasts, and recently I’ve been hooked on Noble Blood which recounts the stories of different royals throughout history.
