About Jack
As Chief Investment Strategist, Jack plays a key leadership role in shaping Sequoia’s investment strategy and research efforts. He works closely with the Sequoia Investment Research team and serves on the firm’s Investment Committee, contributing to portfolio construction, asset allocation, and investment due diligence across equities, fixed income, and alternative investments.
With over a decade of experience across a broad range of asset classes, and a specialized focus on alternatives, Jack leads with a data-driven approach grounded in disciplined analysis and practical application. As Chair of the Alternative Investment Committee, he is responsible for generating and evaluating investment ideas, reviewing opportunities across a dynamic pipeline, and helping to guide thoughtful portfolio adjustments designed to add long-term value.
In addition to his research responsibilities, Jack regularly engages with clients to reinforce Sequoia’s investment philosophy, provide education on market trends, and support portfolio conversations. He is committed to delivering attractive risk-adjusted outcomes and believes consistent application of core investment principles is key to navigating both stable and volatile markets. Jack is a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) and earned his MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Jack lives in Austin, Texas. Outside of the office, he enjoys chess, poker, traveling, and spending time with his wife and two children.
