About Robert

Robert helps clients find financial health by easing their concerns, showing them what is possible, and empowering them to align their assets with their values and goals. As a member of Sequoia’s Wealth Planning department, he takes a genuine interest in each client, listening closely to their hopes and goals before building a holistic plan tailored to their long-term vision.

After seeing friends and relatives lose their jobs during the Great Financial Crisis, Robert set out to help people become financially secure. A strong believer that self-worth should not be tied to net worth, he wants to help every client live with meaning and purpose, striving to be a steady partner along the way. As an adjunct instructor at Utah Valley University, he teaches a course called “Life, Love, and Money.” His time in the classroom helps him explain complex concepts with clarity, and his students’ varied experiences with money remind him to keep an open mind when working with clients.

Robert holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) certification and the Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®) and Chartered Special Needs Consultant® (ChSNC®) designations. He earned his Master of Science in personal financial planning from Texas Tech University and Bachelor of Science in finance from Brigham Young University.

Outside of the office, Robert enjoys hiking and camping in Utah’s mountains and deserts with his wife and their two children. He also likes skiing, playing chess, and listening to audiobooks on ancient religions, philosophy, history, and economics.

CFP Board owns the marks CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® and CFP® in the U.S.

Investments & Wealth Institute™ (The Institute) is the owner of the certification marks “CIMA,” “Certified Investment Management Analyst,” “CPWA,” and “Certified Private Wealth Advisor.” Use of CIMA, Certified Investment Management Analyst, CPWA, and/or Certified Private Wealth Advisor signifies that the user has successfully complete The Institute’s initial and ongoing credentialing requirements for investment management professionals and/or wealth advisors.
