AKRON, Ohio – Sequoia Financial Group, LLC (Sequoia), an independent financial services firm based in Akron, Ohio, joined with Firestone Park YMCA’s day camp to supervise a field day event. Roughly sixty children attended the festivities as Sequoia Financial Group employees oversaw events including potato sack races, face painting, tug of war, dodge ball, an obstacle course, and relay races at the Firestone Park Community Center in Akron, Ohio.
“The kids absolutely loved it!” said Kelsey McCusker, child care director at Firestone Park YMCA. “I think their favorite part was the face painting. We would love to have Sequoia come back next year!”
Tom Haught, president of Sequoia stated, “Volunteer days are a wonderful opportunity for members of our team to work side by side with their colleagues and help others outside of the company walls.”
Sequoia employees supervised the field day event for six hours as part of their monthly Day of Caring, in which the company broadens its service philosophy to provide local communities with care and support. The firm has also assisted Habitat for Humanity, the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, the American Red Cross, and the Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease Foundation.
