Shaun Kapusinski, managing director of operations at Sequoia, was featured in the May 2013 issue of “Inside Information,” a monthly report produced for financial professionals, for creating one of the first forums in the country specific to operations professionals in the financial services industry. A noticeable lack of opportunities for peer collaboration and education for this unique segment within the industry, combined with Kapusinski’s commitment to operations, led him to create the Ops Forum.

“I am truly passionate about my role in helping our advisors provide excellent client service,” says Kapusinski. “Starting the Forum was my way of creating ongoing collaboration with others who share my passion. The effort has strengthened our team and the teams of everyone involved. Most importantly, our clients ultimately benefit from more efficient operational management of their accounts and relationships.”

The Ops Forum consists of a network of operations professionals from 41 member firms who participate in monthly conference calls to share best practices and useful tips. Topics focus on areas such as software platforms and usage, document management, client vaults, securing client data, new client onboarding processes, integrating new technologies into client interactions, CRM and more. The forum also allows firms to informally benchmark their efforts against those of their peer firms.

As the founder and leader of one of only two operations groups of its kind in the industry, Kapusinski will speak at the Insider’s Forum this fall about the Ops Network and its benefits.
