Akron, OH – March 9, 2022 – Sequoia Financial Group is proud to announce Heather Welsh, CFP®, AEP®, MSFS, Vice President, Wealth Planning Department Leader, as one of the recipients of the American College Center for Women in Financial Services inaugural Women Working in Wealth Award. The award recognizes female financial professionals who have made significant contributions to further advance women in financial services through mentorship, professional development, and advocacy.
Heather has exemplified our mission to advance women in financial services and create a more inclusive industry,” said Hilary Fiorella, Executive Director of the American College Center for Women in Financial Services. “We applaud her advocacy and efforts, which are helping to break the bias in financial services and open more doors for women to pursue a career in financial services.”
Heather leads Sequoia's Wealth Planning Department and Diversity & Inclusion initiatives. She also serves as President-Elect for the Cleveland-Akron Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, is an active member of the Estate Planning Council of Cleveland, and is a speaker at industry events. She is a past Greater Akron Chamber 30 For the Future recipient and past Women's Network of Northeast Ohio Women of Professional Excellence award recipient. She is involved in her local community in Brunswick Hills, OH where she resides with her husband and their young son.
Heather was selected from over 125 qualified nominations submitted across the industry. The 2022 Women Working in Wealth Awards were presented on International Women’s Day, March 8, in New York City as part of the American College Center for Women in Financial Services’ inaugural Women Working in Wealth Summit.
